Donate a car to Habitat's "Cars for Homes" Program

When you donate a car, truck, boat or RV to Habitat for Humanity's Cars for Homes™ program, you are helping Jackson-Madison County Habitat for Humanity build homes in partnership with families within your community!

Donating a car, truck, boat, RV or other vehicle is quick and easy, and your car donation may be eligible for tax deduction purposes if you itemize (consult the IRS or your tax advisor for details).

Cars for Homes™ accepts a majority of cars, trucks, boats, RVs and other vehicles with proper title and ownership information, and makes the arrangements to have your vehicle, keys and title picked up for processing.

Net proceeds generated by donated vehicle sales are used by Habitat for Humanity of Jackson to build homes in partnership with families in our community.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of vehicles are accepted?
Habitat’s Cars for HomesTM program accepts most whole (no missing engines, trunks, etc.) cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, trailers and recreational vehicles with proper title information. The vehicle must have a clear title in your name, if required by your state.

What if the vehicle is not running?
The vehicle does not have to be running, but you will be asked to explain the condition of the vehicle. Keep in mind that if the costs of transport and processing fees exceed the auction value of the vehicle donation, we will be unable to accept the vehicle.

What are the requirements for condition of donated vehicles?
• Your vehicle must be whole (no missing engines, trunks, etc.).
• Your vehicle must have a clear title in your name, if required by your home state.  If you cannot locate your title, call us at 1-877-277-4344 and we will assist you in acquiring a new one
• You will be asked your vehicles Make, Model, and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN#) and current mileage.

What are the tax benefits of donating my vehicle?
Habitat for Humanity International is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. If you itemize deductions on your income tax return, it may be possible to claim a deduction for your car donation. Donors should consult their tax advisor and/or IRS to determine how they can benefit.

How much of my donation goes to fight poverty housing?
Habitat for Humanity affiliates receive 100% of the net proceeds generated by vehicle sales (after deducting selling costs and program costs).

How do I know my vehicle is in good hands once it’s been picked up?
ADESA Impact, Habitat for Humanity’s authorized agent, uses a fully licensed and insured national transportation network operating in all 50 states.
